Hi! my name's Paloma and i'm from Santiago, Chile; and i need a HUGE favor.
I'm 17 years old, and i'm a senior; so i'll be finishing highschool in december. What do i wanna do next?
well, there's the problem with that. I want to go exchange to the UK, to improve my english with some weekly english classes, but mostly, to acquire social skills and to learn how to trust in myself and be able to have more independence.
So, i made my plan (traveling in April or Junes, and staying there from 6 to 8 months) and i started searching agencys. I visited A LOT (english schools and brithis embassy included), but from what i did find, it's too expensive for me. More tan US $10000 during 6 months, and it didn't even included the airfare.
Too much for me. My parents tried to convence me to look for other countrys as an option... i've been thinking about australia, new zeland or the united states but for some reason i just can't give up to England.
I mean, the entire culture is absolutly fantastic!, the politics, the way of living, the weather, the music scene, the fashion... and ofcourse, the lovely british accent.
Something just pulls me there, and i'm not quite sure how, but i'm decided to accomplish this.
THAT'S WHY, i'm trying to look for help. Maybe this won't work, but you never know.
So, the first, and most important thing i need is a brithis family that could receive me there. That way, the agency decreases the price to the half.
I really don't mind if i have to share the room, if there's pets in the house or things like that.
Well i guess in this point you might want to know things about me.
I get used to different things easily, and i don't mind helping with the chores and stuff. I studied english for 4 years in the norteamerican institute in Chile, so that could be a good start. However, i don't have enough practice to not sound like foreign (especially if i have to talk with british accent) but i love the lenguage, so it won't be a big problem.
I'm a very energetic person, i like running and cycling, and i love nature and the forest, so i'm used to go camping a lot.
I like to read and play music. I play the guitar, and a bit of piano too. That, and photography.are my fav hobbies. I'm usually very friendly and very helpfull.
The 2nd thing might be, some help with the airfare, but in the good way. If you work in airlines and you can help me with discounts... that'd be great, 'cause i'm not here to ask for money, seriously, i'll take care of that by working hard. Simple as that. Oh and, ofcourse, a private jet would work too.
So thanks if for reading, please, if you can help me that'd be... more than amazing. Is my first big dream in life, and if i don't accomplish this, i don't know what i'm going to do. But i do have faith, miracles happend right?
